VI Peel
of Winter Garden
Ready to feel more confident in your skin? The VI peel is a medical-grade chemical peel used to treat a multitude of cosmetic concerns, and it is effective for all skin types and colors. VI peels are useful for addressing aesthetic concerns typically related to the aging process.
As we age, the skin loses elasticity and can become unevenly pigmented. Sun damage only makes these cosmetic concerns worse. While aging is inevitable, and nothing can turn back the clock, the VI peel can rejuvenate aging skin and help protect it from future damage, giving you have a more youthful, radiant appearance. The VI peel, like other peels offered by our Burbank cosmetic dermatologists, includes a relatively short treatment time.
The VI peel can effectively:
-
Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
-
Reduce the size of enlarged pores
-
Soften rough skin texture
-
Repair acne scars
-
Calm redness from rosacea
-
Improve overall skin health
-
Diminish age spots and hyperpigmentation
How Does the VI Peel Work?
The purpose of the VI peel is to safely and effectively remove damaged layers of skin to improve the surface layer. The VI peel uses a unique formula blend of trichloroacetic acid, tretinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, vitamin C to promote cellular turnover and refine the skin’s surface layer. After your VI peel is applied to the face, you will be free to return home. The peel must be on the skin for at least 4 hours, and then washed off. There are specific, at-home instructions for aftercare you must follow to ensure proper healing and optimal results.
VI Peel Aftercare
The basics of VI Peel aftercare include staying out of the sun, not picking at the skin, and not layering products on the skin during the first week. You will receive thorough post-peel aftercare instructions to ensure your skin heals properly.
The First Day
Although you will be able to return to work or other everyday activities immediately after a VI peel, there is a recovery period during which the skin appears red and slightly swollen. This is normal, and usually goes down significantly within 24 hours. You should avoid strenuous activities or vigorous exercise for the first 24-48 hours, as sweating can potentially alter your results and cause a stinging sensation. At the end of the day, wash your face with water and a mild cleanser, as well as the VI Peel post-peel towelette and VI Moisturizer to soothe your skin.
The Day After Your VI Peel
In the morning, apply the VI Derm SPF 30 Sunscreen to protect your skin, as you are prone to sunburn while the chemical peel is increasing the rate of cellular turnover. Your skin may be irritated by touch, which can be treated with VI peel moisturizer for any stinging or dryness. A lightweight, over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream may be useful if you are experiencing discomfort. At the end of the day, you should again use another post-peel towelette to soothe your skin overnight.
The 3rd Through 7th Days After a VI Peel
You may start to notice the peel working by this time, but you must still adhere to aftercare instructions to promote proper healing and the best aesthetic results. Maintain your sunscreen regimen. Your skin may begin to peel/slough off, which is normal, healthy, and a natural reaction to any chemical peel. Do not pick at your skin, as it can irritate it further. Continue with the post-peel towelette as usual.
By the 2nd week, and following this, your skin should be less sensitive, and you will be able to resume your regular skin care regimen.
A VI peel may be exactly what you need for beautiful, rejuvenated skin. If you’re ready to learn more about the VI peel or the other chemical peels we offer, contact LAVISHiBrows today.
